Waha Watches Reviews ALATO Ögonsten
It's always special to see a watch we've worked on for a long time end up on someone else's wrist. Suddenly, it's not our sketches, prototypes, and reasoning that are in focus, but the watch itself.
This time, Waha Watches has taken a closer look at ALATO Ögonsten, our Swedish designed 38mm watch and the latest model from us at ALATO Watches.
In the full review, Michał Kolwas goes through everything from Ögonsten's unusual case and proportions to the fume dial, the faceted hands, and some of the truly small details. Things that might not be noticeable at first glance, but which we spent an embarrassing amount of time developing.
The review also takes a closer look at how Ögonsten wears on the wrist and our choice of a Swiss Ronda quartz movement. A conscious choice that is likely to continue the eternal discussion among us watch enthusiasts about quartz versus mechanical watches.
As a Swedish watch brand, it is particularly gratifying to see Ögonsten reviewed outside of Sweden. The microbrand world has become one of the more interesting parts of modern watch design, where smaller independent watch brands like ours can dare to do things a little differently.
And that is precisely why external reviews are so interesting to us.
When you have lived with every millimeter of a design, you become quite bad at seeing it with fresh eyes. A reviewer comes without that history and judges what actually ended up on the wrist.
Waha Watches' review of ALATO Ögonsten is both detailed and curious, and captures several of the things we hoped other watch enthusiasts would discover for themselves.
We won't spoil the rest.
