Hans Lippershey (c. 1570–1619) was a Dutch optician and innovator who forever changed the way we see the world. As the man behind the telescope, he combined technology and curiosity in an instrument that opened the gates to the universe. Lippershey's contribution was not only a technical feat, but also a reminder of man's eternal desire to understand the unknown.
With a design inspired by the functions and forms of telescopes, the Timescope carries the same spirit as Lippershey’s first instrument. Crosshair-like indexing, a serrated inner bezel and a flat sapphire crystal structure take their aesthetic from the tools that were first aimed at the stars. The faceted hands reflect the precise measuring tools used to measure distances in space.
Timescope is a futuristic everyday watch for watch enthusiasts with an interest in technology, science and engineering. It carries on the Lippershey heritage, a celebration of discovery, precision and the dream of seeing beyond the horizon.
